mynTel.com.ng is the portal where we subscribe/activate nTel data plans. The mynTel website has been down for quite sometimes now and many subscribers (including WAWU) can no longer activate data plans.
They even have the myntel app on Google Play Store. I don’t know if that is working now but your guess is as good as mine.
In this post, I will tell you about the mynTel.com.ng portal and how you can now recharge your nTel line, subscribe and activate data plans. Since the nTel self care portal has refused to open, we need other means of activating data.
Since I started using nTel WAWU, it’s been hard to switch to other plans or network. I tried even the “cheap” Glo data bundles but I couldn’t sustain it.
What’s mynTel Portal?
Well, I really don’t know how to go about this. That is because I really can’t decide of if I should refer to the website in the present or past tense. But then, the site no longer opens, so, I’ll go with the past.
The mynTel.com.ng portal used to be the nTel network self care portal. This portal, previously found at myntel.com.ng used to have many features to make the life of subscribers easy.
On mynTel, you could check your nTel data balance, you could subscribe to new data bundles, check your credit (airtime) balance and more. It was also very easy to access www.myntel.com login.
Back then, all you need to do was to recharge your line using any of the methods available. I sometimes would use the QuickTeller platform found at https://www.quickteller.com/ntel and call some nTel staff to help recharge at other times.
Although not as easy to recharge and subscribe as other networks, it was still quite worth the trouble considering the huge data you get for small fees. nTel WAWU subscribers would understand what I mean by this.
So what happened to mynTel.com.ng Portal for Data Subscription?
If you are reading this, it’s probably because you tried to access myntel portal but found that it no longer opens. You are probably frustrated right now because it’s more difficult that ever to recharge and subscribe on nTel lines.
You have probably reloaded http://myntel.com.ng/login several times and nothing came up. At a point, the website had the “under maintenance, we will be back soon” placeholder. But now, it does not even load anything than the default browser error message.
I heard from a reliable source that the company is having problem with their payment gateway setup and/or integration with applications. Therefore, the problem is actually not with the website but the payment gateway which processes the payment and allow you subscribe. That’s all I know.
How do your Subscribe on nTel SIM now?
Since myntel.com.ng is down, you have few options available. Trust me I have tried several means. I have tried the Quickteller option, it did not work. After that, I started calling their customer care phone number to activate my WAWU data bundle.
That also did not work more than twice as they stopped picking calls. Shortly after, I only heard the recorder “Welcome, Thank you” when I called their customer service line. I guess they couldn’t handle the tons of calls they were getting.
The common method of subscribing on the normal nTel and WAWU lines is to contact nTel via Twitter. They activate a lot of data bundle for nTel WAWU and normal SIMs daily.
All you have to do is to mention them on Twitter @ntelcare and state that you want them to activate data for you. In the message, include the following:
- your nTel phone number
- the data bundle you want to activate e.g. WAWU 12GB for N1,000
- state that you need it badly. LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE IN DIRE NEED!
- If possible, you should tag the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) on Twitter as witness. This shouls be the last resort if they don’t attend to your first request.
Sample message to request nTel Data Activation on Twitter:
Finally, I should also let you know that calling them out on Twitter doesn’t always work. Even though many people have been attended to, there are still many others who couldn’t get nTel to activate their data bundle.
So, how do I subscribe on nTel since the demise of myntel self care portal. I have a guy who does it for me. He recharges my nTel line and activates the WAWU data plan of 112GB for N7,500.
I can link you up with him if you want. Just drop your request as a comment below and I will help you.
